The Electrical Assembly Lead is responsible for overseeing the assembly, testing, and maintenance of electrical components, sub-assemblies, and systems, while actively participating in the hands-on work. This role involves leading and supervising a team of technicians to ensure all electrical equipment meets quality and safety standards, adhering to specifications and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, leadership abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage and collaborate with team members in a dynamic environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and Supervise Electrical Assembly Team: Provide guidance, training, and support team members while ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.
  • Hands-On Assembly: Build electrical panels, junction boxes, and various electrical components following schematics, blueprints, or work orders, while also managing the assembly process and providing hands-on assistance when needed.
  • Conduct Testing and Troubleshooting: Oversee functional testing of electrical assemblies and troubleshoot electrical systems, diagnosing issues and implementing corrective actions to ensure operational standards are met.
  • Read and Interpret Technical Documentation: Review and ensure the accuracy of technical documents, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and provide support to the team in understanding these documents.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and test completed assemblies to ensure they meet all quality and safety standards, working to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of assembly and testing results and ensure proper documentation is kept for all work performed.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with engineers and technicians to optimize assembly processes, improve product performance, and implement best practices.
  • Equipment and Tool Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and condition of tools and equipment used in electrical assembly, ensuring they are well-maintained and safe to use.
  • Adherence to Safety Standards: Ensure the team follows all company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Team Development: Train and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Adhere to company safety policies to create a safe work environment.
  • Other duties may be assigned which are trained for and qualified to do.

Requirements:

  • Education And/or Experience: High School diploma or equivalent education/training specialized in electrical w/ 5 yrs hands on electrical experience. Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school offering specialized in electrical training; or two years or more related experience and/or training, preferred. Must have a track record of leadership or supervisory experience in a technical environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to manage, mentor, and motivate a team of technicians while contributing to the technical work needed. Ability to manage and prioritize tasks, ensuring the team meets production and quality goals.
  • Licenses and Other Requirements:
    • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record to be covered by Acieta’s automobile insurance. Position may require up to 25% travel, including overnight stays when at customer sites.
    • Must be at ease working with others of essentially equal or even greater technical expertise and experience of an effective manner.
    • Must be familiar with NEC, NFPA79, and other applicable electrical codes. Strong knowledge of electrical components, circuits, and systems. Must have the ability to troubleshoot and solve electrical issues effectively. Must be familiar with electrical safety protocols and regulations.
    • Must be skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment. Must provide your own tools for electrical wiring and tool bag.
