Join Our Team as an Applications Engineer:

As an Applications Engineer, you’ll play a key role in helping our sales team win projects by developing compelling, high‑quality proposals that clearly demonstrate Acieta’s deep understanding of customer needs. You’ll dive into each customer’s products, manufacturing processes, and pain points to craft smart, efficient automation solutions that showcase the value of our equipment. By balancing innovation with thoughtful consideration of cost and risk, you’ll help position Acieta as the partner of choice and drive successful outcomes for both our customers and our team.

What You Get to Do:

  • Build deep expertise in our automation products through hands‑on training and real‑world exposure, ensuring you fully understand each system’s capabilities.
  • Develop project concepts from initial idea to defined scope, create accurate hour and cost estimates, and write clear, compelling sales proposals that set the project up for success.
  • Master essential engineering tools—including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Word, Excel, and Salesforce—while creating efficient, high‑quality proposals and costing documents.
  • Own the organization of application data, maintaining clean, structured files and documentation throughout each project.
  • Develop detailed sequences of operation with timing estimates, gathering critical information from customers—even when they’re new to automation—and making smart, well‑documented assumptions when needed.
  • Collaborate with third‑party vendors to select and spec the right equipment that meets project requirements and aligns with internal team expectations.
  • Recommend improvements that reduce cost, boost performance, and refine processes—continuing to contribute even after orders are awarded.
  • Support your Team Leader in resolving technical or project issues throughout execution, providing expertise when customer questions arise.
  • Promote and uphold a safe working environment by following company safety standards.
  • Take on additional assignments and step into new challenges as requested by your supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, which are reasonably related to the scope of the position and necessary for business operations.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent blend of education and hands‑on experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in automation, robotics, sales engineering, or project management (a strong plus).
  • 2–5+ years of experience in industrial automation, ideally with exposure to custom automation solutions.
  • Strong mechanical or mechatronics engineering background (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical design drawings with confidence and accuracy.
  • Proven communication skills to craft clear proposals, write concise technical documentation, and collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into customer‑ready explanations, both written and verbal.
  • Experience presenting technical information to vendors, clients, and internal teams—including leadership.
  • Familiarity with electrical and pneumatic controls designs and how they integrate into automation systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and reason through complex challenges, using written, verbal, or diagram‑based instructions.
  • Experience evaluating cost factors such as materials, time, tooling, and project expenses.
  • Highly self‑motivated and detail‑oriented, thriving in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with industry‑relevant software tools, including CAD platforms and other automation technologies.
  • Strong understanding of automation hardware, software, and control systems, and how they work together.
